MYR:
DAYS OF CONVERGENCE: CONTEMPORARY METAL OBSERVING OUR TIMES. MYR’S FIRST ALBUM, AREASONICA RECORDS PRODUCTION.
“DAYS OF CONVERGENCE” – the MYR’s first album – is a window on our times, a confused landscape where everything seems to mixed up in an unstoppable meltin pot. The heart of this vague process is unreachable: today, we’ve got all the answers, but we’ve lost the strenght to make the right questions.
Published by Areasonica Records, produced by Giuseppe Orlando (the well known Novembre’s drummer) and mastered at Marcussen Mastering of Los Angeles (“Follow the leader” by Korn), “DAYS OF CONVERGENCE” has seven tracks that harmonize occidental rock/metal sound with eastern culture’s elements: it’s a new progressive-metal mood, in which the instrumental technique is at the service of the atmosphere of the songs. The post-metal sonorities of this album give birth to a polyhedric language, in which different musical styles are connected by one strong guide-line.
From Fantasy to Drama, passing by Cyberpunk and Noir. These are the different atmospheres evoked by MYR’s first album. A sound able to please a wide range of listeners.
Days of Convergence got immediately a general appreciation and a remarkable success among the most important trade magazines:
“[…] An album based on the ability to change its form each time you listen to it, which completely satisfies the thirst of new emotions […]”
(Michele Martini – RockHard Italy – Year II – number 14)
Simultaneously with the coming out of “DAYS OF CONVERGENCE”, Areasonica Records launches on YouTube the music video of the single “Apprentice” – first track of the album – directed by Carlo Strata, also director of the great Italian rocker Vasco Rossi.
Out on November the 25th, MYR’s new video “Land Art”.
ON|OFF|MAN:
MANKIND MOVES BACKWARD OR FORWARD?
“GIANT BACKSTEPS” COMES OUT: ON|OFF|MAN’S FIRST ALBUM PRODUCED BY AREASONICA RECORDS
ON|OFF|MAN: their music will drag you in a Rock and contemporary Psychedelic mood, spiced up with a passionate sound affect and soundtrack atmospheres.
A multi-instrumentalist keyboarder and a guitarist who came out from Music Academy, a busker drummer who travelled the world, a bassist who shaped himself at Thames Valley University of London: absolute instrumental rock music. But you don’t feel the lack of a singer: the voice seems unnecessary.
“Giant Backsteps” is their first album, produced by Areasonica Records: seven tracks in which Rock embraces Electronic, up-to-date sonorities that succeed to tell something without saying nothing.
Most important trade magazines show their appreciation for Giant Backsteps:
“[…] Their first album Giant Backsteps is a little jewel of dreamlike intensity […]”
(Michele Martini – RockHard – Year II – Number 14)
The title is a reflection, something between an analysis and a revolt against the current idea of human progress. The question is: the giant steps of mankind move backward or forward? Since ON|OFF|MAN don’t use words we should answer on our own.
